Traffic: Goldstream Avenue between Veteran’s Memorial Parkway and Mall Entrance
TRAFFIC ADVISORY
Issued: Friday, January 13, 2023
Where: Goldstream Avenue between Veteran’s Memorial Parkway and Mall Entrance
When: Monday, January 16, 2023 to Friday, February 10, 2023, 7:00AM to 5:00PM
What: Road Closure – Watermain replacement
Please be advised that from Monday, January 16, 2023, to Friday, February 10, 2023, Goldstream Ave will be closed to thru eastbound traffic between Veteran’s Memorial Parkway and the roundabout at the mall entrance/Bryn Maur Road. Construction Crews will be working on-site between 7:00AM and 5:00 PM.
Local traffic will still be able to drive eastbound to the businesses at this location. The map is illustrating full closure eastbound (driving toward Veterans Memorial Parkway) to encourage anyone not going to those businesses to avoid the area. Driveway access will be maintained to all businesses in the work area. The City will also work with all businesses to advertise on their behalf that business is still open.
BC Transit and emergency vehicles will have full access through this work location.
This project is part of a much larger watermain replacement that continues west as far as Leigh Road. The project is being constructed in sections to best manage traffic. The project has started at the east end/Veterans Memorial Parkway to get out of the downtown area before the warmer weather and special events occur. An updated traffic advisory will be issued weekly or more frequently if required. Please visit www.langford.ca where a link will occur.
Traffic control personnel will be on-site during working hours to facilitate vehicles’ and pedestrians’ access to local businesses in the affected area. Please follow the BLUE detour route during construction and expect delays.
There is a parking facility on Claude Road (outlined with a BLUE P in the attached diagram) that the public can use to walk to the local business.
Please follow Traffic Control Person’s on-site during construction. Motorists should expect and should plan for longer commuting times. We apologize for the inconvenience.
