TRAFFIC ADVISORY
Issued: Tuesday, March 14, 2023
Where: Goldstream Avenue between Veteran’s Memorial Parkway and Peatt Road
When: Wednesday, March 15, 2023 from 7:00AM to 5:00PM
What: Partial Road Closure – Watermain Replacement
Please be advised that on Wednesday, March 15, 2023, Goldstream Avenue will be closed to thru eastbound traffic between Veteran’s Memorial Parkway and the roundabout at the mall entrance/Bryn Maur Road. Construction Crews will be working on-site between 7:00AM and 5:00PM.
Business access will be maintained in the westbound direction at this location. The map is illustrating full closure eastbound (driving toward Veterans Memorial Parkway from Byrn Maur) to encourage anyone not going to those businesses to avoid the area. Driveway access to businesses will be maintained where possible in the work area. If accessing the Goldstream Station Plaza, please try to use the secondary access off Byrn Maur. The city will also work with all businesses to advertise on their behalf that business is still open.
BC Transit and emergency vehicles will have full access through this work location.
This project is part of a much larger watermain replacement that continues west as far as Leigh Road. The project is being constructed in sections, to best manage traffic. The project has started at the east end/Veterans Memorial Parkway to get out of the downtown area before the warmer weather and special events occur. An updated traffic advisory will be issued weekly or more frequently if required. Please visit www.langford.ca where a link will occur.
Traffic control personnel will be on-site during working hours to facilitate vehicle and pedestrian access to local businesses in the affected area. Please follow the RED route during construction if accessing businesses and please follow the GREEN detour route during construction if not accessing businesses and expect delays.
There is a parking facility on Claude Road (outlined with a BLUE ‘P’ in the attached diagram) that the public can use to walk to the local business.
Please follow signage and Traffic Control Personnel directions on-site during construction. Motorists should expect and should plan for longer commuting times. We apologize for the inconvenience.
