When: Tuesday, February 21, 2023 to Friday, February 24, 2023, 7:00AM to 5:00PM
What: Partial Road Closure and Single Lane Alternating – Watermain Replacement
Please be advised that from Tuesday, February 21, 2023, to Friday, February 24, 2023, Watermain construction will be taking place on Goldstream Avenue between Veteran’s Memorial Parkway and Peatt Road. Two way traffic will be maintained for the duration of the work with potential for single lane alternating. Delays are to be expected. Construction Crews will be working on-site between 7:00AM and 5:00PM.
Business and bus access will be maintained, but motorists should expect delays. If accessing the Goldstream Station Plaza or the Langford Plaza, please try to use the access off Bryn Maur Road. The City will also work with all businesses to advertise on their behalf that business is still open.
BC Transit and emergency vehicles will have full access through this work location.
This project is part of a much larger watermain replacement that continues west as far as Leigh Road. The project is being constructed in sections to best manage traffic. The project has started at the east end/Veteran’s Memorial Parkway to get out of the downtown area before the warmer weather and special events occur. An updated traffic advisory will be issued weekly or more frequently, if required. Please visit www.langford.ca where a link will occur.
Traffic control personnel will be on-site during working hours to facilitate vehicle and pedestrian access to local businesses in the affected area. Please follow the RED route during construction if accessing businesses. Parking is available off Claude Road for people who prefer to walk to their destinations. Please follow signage and Traffic Control Personnel directions during construction. Motorists should expect and should plan for longer commuting times. We apologize for the inconvenience.
