Housing Strategy Survey
The City of Langford is making a plan to address housing challenges in the community. At the same time, the City is updating how it secures contributions from developers toward affordable housing and community amenities like recreational facilities, public plazas, libraries, and daycares so the requirements apply to all new development, and the rules match new provincial legislation. Langford community members are invited to share their perspectives on housing and community amenities by completing a short survey.

TRAFFIC ADVISORY

Where:            Jacklin Road between Lequesne Avenue and Orono Avenue

When:               Monday, November 27, 2023, to Friday, August 1, 2025 from 7:00AM to 5:00PM

What:               Traffic Delay – Construction Staging

Please be advised that starting Monday, November 27, 2023 between the hours of 7:00AM to 5:00PM, Jacklin Road between Lequesne Avenue and Orono Avenue will be reduced to one lane in each direction to accommodate the construction staging of a multi-unit rental building.

Construction will generally take place Monday to Friday, from 7:00AM to 5:00PM, and weekends as needed. Delays are to be expected during construction material deliveries through this working area.

Alternative pedestrian access along Jacklin Road will be provided throughout this work with Traffic Control Personnel during working hours over the duration of the project, including trucking activities and delivery of materials to the site.

Both North and South bound bike detour route will be provided as an option for cyclists.

 Access to 2800 block Jacklin Road businesses for northbound traffic can be accessed via Orono Avenue to Knotty Pine Road to Lequesne Avenue as shown in the map provided. All surrounding business and residential access will be maintained.

BC Transit and emergency vehicles will have full access through this work area.

Traffic control will be on-site directing traffic and please follow signage placed at the work area. Delays may be expected, motorists please be aware. We apologize for the inconvenience.
