Gang Education Seminar
West Shore Parks & Recreation is hosting a Gang Awareness Education Seminar on Monday, March 11th, 2024 at the Juan De Fuca 55+ Activity Centre at West Shore Parks & Recreation.
In partnership with the West Shore RCMP and the Combined Forces Special Enforcement Unit BC’s End Gang Life initiative, and funded by Public Safety Canada’s Building Safer Communities Grant, this FREE seminar aims to empower those with connections to youth including parents and guardians, teachers, youth workers, and administrators. This seminar will provide crucial information about the current gang situation in our community, along with strategies to reduce the risk of harm to our youth.
Topics covered will include local gang-related activity, gang recruitment tactics, identifying early risk factors in youth, trends in social media and substance use, and community-based supports.
This seminar takes place at the Juan De Fuca 55+ Activity Centre on Monday, March 11th, 2024 from 6:15-8:15PM. The seminar is free; however, registration is required. Please visit www.wspr.ca to register.
