In the HR Assistant position, you are an integral part of our small but mighty team where you will help to keep all HR processes running smoothly so our employees have the best experience possible. You will provide confidential administrative support to the HR and Corporate Services departments, including supporting all recruitment, new employee onboarding, compensation administration, and health and safety initiatives. You will respond to inquiries while providing information and strong customer service to internal and external clients.
As our ideal candidate, you are a detail-oriented individual with strong administrative and people skills. Your ability to manage your (and your team’s) time is unparalleled, and you enjoy working in an environment where no two days are the same. You are great with computers and solving puzzles, and you tend to explore new ways to get things done.
Other qualifications for this position include:
- Post-secondary education or courses/training in Office, Business or Local Government Administration
- Three (3) years’ related experience (ideally within a local government environment)
- Certificate or diploma in Human Resources or Occupational Health and Safety is an asset
- Occupational First Aid Level I (or ability to obtain)
- Well-developed planning, organizing, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent computer skills, with a high level of proficiency with MS Office

The salary range offered for this temporary, full-time position is $35.03 to $38.92 per hour plus an excellent benefits package including one of Canada’s top pension plans, and a 35-hour modified work week schedule with flex days.
