CITY HALL OPERATIONAL UPDATE:
 

Most departments of City Hall were left temporarily inaccessible following the flood event on June 26th, 2024. While restoration work continues, operations are back to full capacity, functioning out of two floors of 877 Goldstream Avenue.

Administration, Bylaw, Parks, and Engineering Departments will be available on the second floor of City Hall.

Finance, Planning, Building, and Business Licensing Departments will be available at the ground floor unit #117 of 877 Goldstream Avenue. This unit is accessible from the left side of the building, directly off the rear parking lot.

The Bylaw Enforcement Department has now moved to the ground floor at Suite 101.

Do you have the right attitude, qualifications, and superior people skills for the job?  If so, the City of Langford invites you to apply for a regular full-time opportunity to be our Manager of Legislative Services!

As the Manager of Legislative Services, you will be responsible for overseeing the activities of the Legislative Services department, including management of bylaws, preparation of Council and Committee agendas, policies, the City’s records, and information management program, FOIPPA requirements and requests, privacy management, and scanning services. This position also acts as the deputy chief elections officer as needed.

 

Qualifications for this position include:

  • University degree in Public Administration, Business Administration or a related field
  • Five (5) years’ related experience, including three (3) years in a management supervisory role in Municipal Administration (or an equivalent combination)
  • Certified Records Manager in good standing
  • Certificate in local government administration is considered an asset
  • Thorough knowledge of Community Charter, and Local Government Act and Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act
  • Expert knowledge of records and information management procedures
  • Thorough knowledge of election legislation and election practices/procedures and requirements
  • A team player with a strong work ethic
  • A sense of humor, with the ability to take your work seriously but not yourself.

The salary range for this regular, full-time position is $115,064 to $135,369, plus an excellent benefits package including one of Canada’s top pension plans, and a 35-hour modified workweek schedule with flex days.
