Police Services Floater Clerk

If so, the City of Langford invites you to apply for a regular, full-time opportunity to be a Police Services Floater Clerk at the West Shore RCMP Detachment!
The Police Services Floater Clerk performs all aspects of Switchboard, Front Counter, and transcription in a back-up capacity, and is directly involved in civil fingerprinting, records management, and other administrative related duties. This position also provides basic Canadian Police Information System (CPIC) and Police Records Information Management Environment (PRIME) support as required.
Qualifications for this position include:
- Completion of Grade 12 and two (2) years’ related experience ideally within a RCMP environment (or an equivalent of combination)
- Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance is mandatory
- Proficient in various computerised Information/Data Systems, office equipment, word processing systems, and various transcription software programs
- Working knowledge of both PRIME and CPIC is considered an asset
- Ability to interpret and apply policies, regulations and statutes
- Ability to maintain accurate records
- Ability to tactfully deal with concerns, questions or issues both verbally and in writing
Applicants must have strong organizational skills, be able to work in a team environment, and multi-task through various duties and assignments. Experience with the Police Records Information Management Environment (PRIME), Canadian Police Information Centre (CPIC) and RCMP policies and regulations and other database programs are an asset.
The salary range offered for this regular, full-time position is $30.65 – $33.51 per hour (2024 rates) plus an excellent benefits package including one of Canada’s top pension plans, and a 35-hour modified work week with flex days.
