John Goudy message of condolence – Office of the Mayor

Scott Goodmanson, Mayor of the City of Langford, has released the following statement on the passing of former Langford City Councillor, and dedicated member of the community, John Goudy.
“On behalf of the City of Langford and members of Langford Council, I want to extend my deepest condolences to the family and friends of former Langford City Councillor, John Goudy. Mr. Goudy is remembered as an inspiring local leader, and devoted member of Council whose impact can be seen throughout the community to this day.
Mr. Goudy played a significant role in Langford’s growth and development. Prior to being elected to Council, he was a member of multiple municipal advisory committees, including the Finance and Administration Committee, Transportation and Public Works Committee, and the Planning and Zoning Committee, providing valuable insights that have enriched Langford.
John served on council for 12 years. He was described by all as a joy to work with, inquisitive, and a well respected community leader.
Mr. Goudy’s legacy and memory will live on through his significant contributions to both the Goudy branch of the library, and Goudy field. Our thoughts are with the Goudy family during this challenging time.”
In acknowledgement of Mr. Goudy’s passing, and to honour his legacy in the community, the City has lowered the flags across Langford to half-mast.
