Buepoint Consulting Ltd.: Structural EIT
We are currently looking for a Structural EIT to join the team at our Langford office in a full-time position. You will be working closely with our engineers, designers and project managers to complete projects that include, but are not limited to the following responsibilities:
-Performing structural analysis and design for a variety of concrete, steel, and wood structures within various projects.
-Writing and editing technical reports.
-Providing efficient, effective, and timely solutions to structural design problems
-Complete structural calculations and prepare and edit structural specifications.
-Coordinate structural designs and documents with other disciplines (Architectural, civil, mechanical, electrical, and landscaping, etc.)
-Participate in the development of quality production and service standards and liaise with other office locations.
-Collaborate with architects, designers and building contractors on design and construction of projects
-Provide structural engineering support during construction, review of shop drawings, site meetings, responding to requests for information and carry out field reviews.
-Experience with AutoCAD is required and Revit is an asset
Qualifications:
-Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with emphasis on Structural Analysis and Design.
– Registered or eligible for registration within 6 months as a Professional Engineer with APEGBC (EGBC).
-3-5 years relevant experience in Canada.
-Working knowledge of the building and construction process as it relates to single family, multi-family and light commercial wood framed construction.
-Knowledge of BCBC Part 9 design codes and standards, including seismic design and detailing requirements, experience in construction is an asset.
-Proficient in structural engineering design software.
-Attention to detail is essential to meet the expectations of this position.
-Self-starter and team player.
-Good verbal and written communication skills.
-Geotechnical experience is an asset but not required.
