We recently updated our wage rates, with hourly wages of $22.36 for Lifeguards and $25.48 for Swim Instructors. As a casual team member, you’ll have the flexibility to work up to 19 hours per week, including weekdays and weekends, with ongoing placement.
As part of our Aquatic Staff team, you’ll provide high-quality programs and services to our members and participants, ensuring a safe aquatic environment and educating the public on safe swimming habits. You’ll get to use your creativity to plan and implement progressive swimming instruction in the YMCA aquatic system, maintain accurate records for participants, and keep equipment safe and in good repair.
As a valued team member, you’ll receive a YMCA-YWCA individual membership and have the opportunity to work with a friendly and supportive staff team. You’ll be committed to service excellence by modeling and maintaining YMCA SAM 2.1 standards and developing courteous relationships with members and participants.
To join our team, you’ll need to have current Lifesaving Society National Lifeguard certification, Airway Management and Oxygen Administration (AMOA) certification, and Swim Instructor certification. YMCA or BCRPA Aquafit certification and Standard First Aid and CPR C certification are also required.
