CLOSEThe City of Langford and the surrounding area are home to an array of education offerings, including public, private, alternative and post-secondary schools. As Langford welcomes new families to our community, our local public school district continues to grow to accommodate them.
New schools
School District No. 62. serves the communities of Sooke, Port Renfrew, the Highlands, Metchosin, Colwood and Langford. Coming soon to Langford is a new 480-seat Elementary School named SĆIȺNEW̱ SṮEȽIṮḴEȽ Elementary School. The school will be located at 802 Latoria Road and is projected to open in fall 2025.
While the City of Langford is not tasked with the planning or development of new schools, the City does work closely with SD62. Every application for rezoning that would result in additional population is provided to the School District at the beginning of the rezoning process, so that the District can anticipate growth and include that information in their population projections.
