Society of Saint Vincent de Paul of Vancouver Island is a non-profit organization dedicated to serving the needs of any person who needs our help.
Our COVID-19 Regulations
With COVID-19, those who are in need now face even greater difficulties in finding food, shelter and meeting other daily needs. Despite the challenges of social distancing, the work of our Society must continue to help meet these needs, sometimes in new ways. The Society continues to serve the most vulnerable in our Vancouver Island communities with emergency services. For example, we are reaching out with friendly telephone calls, dropping off food hampers and food cards, continuing to run our food pantries and engaging in other activities that meet people’s needs – all while keeping our members, volunteers, staff, and those we serve safe.
Unfortunately, the current coronavirus situation has limited some of the services we can provide on Vancouver Island, but the needs of the poor remain. And since our churches are closed, people are finding it more difficult to provide direct support.
