The holy trinity of BBQ season beginning is receiving the recognition it deserves this summer!
There’s a brand new festival coming to Langford and it’s touting itself as the summer’s biggest adult fair.
This is a bring-your-own-bib celebration because the Bacon, Beer and Bourbon Festival is a southern-inspired event that will bring you unique smokey offerings from chefs, brewers and mixologists that will leave you drooling.
It’s all going down at Langford’s Starlight Stadium in the heat of late June, when the island’s most crisp seasonal beers will be at their coldest, the pork-forward dishes will be the best BBQ of the summer and the bourbon cocktails may just refresh you beyond your wildest dreams.
All the drool-worthy bacon and pork products for this are being supplied by Hertel Meats, who have become renowned on Vancouver Island for their quality and their pork’s freshness.
“Dream of the smell of bacon wafting across your nose while you sip on a batch bourbon cocktail, laughing with a friend,” said Bacon, Beer and Bourbon Fest’s founder, David Bain.
“We want to create the ultimate backyard party that mimics elements of a fair but focuses on being strictly adult.”
It all starts the moment you step through the front gate. You’ll instantly receive a complimentary bourbon or beer sample as well as a free offering of Hertel’s Bacon that will leave you wanting more.
You’ll have the chance to play larger-than-life lawn games on the Starlite Stadium pitch while enjoying the festival’s libations. You’ll also have the opportunity to vote for your favourite creations and combinations.
This event will be the only festival of the summer to have you sipping, salivating and savouring as you sample some of Vancouver Island’s finest.

Tickets go on sale Wednesday, February 22nd to those signed up to the newsletter and open up to the public at 10 a.m. on Thursday, February 23rd.
