Where to Stay in Langford

Where to Stay in Langford

Whether you’re planning to relax in the serenity of a spa, update your wardrobe or home in various shopping districts, or reconnect with nature walking under towering trees, floating on a sparkling lake, or enjoying a picnic in a sunny park, Langford has what you’re looking for in your next vacation.

Langford is also a fantastic central location to stay if you want to explore elsewhere on the southern tip of Vancouver Island. It is just a 20km drive east to downtown Victoria, 25km drive north to the Butchart Gardens, or you can escape into the wilderness by heading southwest to Sooke (30km), Port Renfrew (100km away), and all the stunningly beautiful beaches of Juan de Fuca Provincial Park in between.

Regardless of what you plan to fill your time with, you’re going to need to find some accommodation that suits your needs. Luckily, Langford also has several options to cater to different tastes.

Bear Mountain: The Westin Resort and Fairways Hotel
The resort community of Bear Mountain makes for a great luxury getaway. A 10-minute drive up the mountain and away from the hustle and bustle of the city, you can relax in one of the two amazing hotels.

The Westin Bear Mountain Resort hotel lives up to its brand, with high-end rooms, excellent service, and the best views you’ll find in the region. It also has many of the neighbourhood’s amenities under its roof. Pamper yourself at the Amatista Spa, then dine at the chic Bella restaurant or more casual Masters Lounge. If you are lucky enough to be staying on a Friday, you can head downstairs for a Friday Night Flight to sample wines hand-picked by the sommelier while nibbling on cheese and canapes.

Tucked in beside the Westin is the Fairways Hotel. With a bit of a different look, you’ll still enjoy a similar level of quality. The Fairways backs right onto the golf course, so the views are serene and quiet. You can visit the spa and restaurants inside the Westin or explore resort community. There is a sushi restaurant and the local pub, Jack’s Place, right next door. Just a block away, you can also stop in at the Mountain Market for a morning coffee or afternoon snack.

The real highlight of the location, however, is all of the activities. Two Jack Nicklaus designed golf courses, as well as red clay outdoor and indoor tennis courts. There is also a hiking trail that leads directly into the majestic Goldstream Provincial Park (a 1.9km fairly rugged trail to the main entrances of the park) and up Mount Finlayson (a 1.2km steep trail to the peak) for spectacular views.

If you are looking to explore the rest of Langford, everything is within a short drive. It is 4.5km to Millstream village and roughly 6km to City Centre Park, Goldstream Village, Belmont Market, and Westshore Town Centre.

Four Points by Sheraton
The Four Points by Sheraton is located close enough to the Trans Canada Highway to be a great base of operations if you are planning to explore not only Langford but the rest of the region as well. The rooms are bright, clean, modern, yet unassuming. This is the hotel for you if you are looking for a pool and hot tub access included in your stay.

Just down the road, you’ll find Millstream Village. There you can find coffee shops, sushi, Thai, Korean, wood-fired pizza, several pubs, and a variety of fast food. There is also a variety of shops to browse while you’re there.

You’re also only 2km from Goldstream Village and 4km from City Centre Park, Belmont Market and Westshore Town Centre, and 7km from Goldstream Provincial Park.

Solo Suites
You’ll find a different kind of hotel experience at Solo Suites. More like a home-away-from-home, even the studio suites include a stove, fridge, dishwasher, microwave, coffee maker, and washer and dryer. There are pots and pans, dishes, and cutlery so you can cook your own meals. That said, you’re less than a kilometer from all the fantastic restaurants and stores in Goldstream Village.

Goldstream Village has everything you could want: more great restaurants than you could try, a selection of salon and personal care providers, and an eclectic selection of shops – from aromatherapy to bicycle shops, consignment boutiques to pet stores. Plus, Westshore Town Centre (the largest mall in Langford) is just a short walk or drive away and has anything else you’re looking for.

Cycle Inn B&B
Located right on the Galloping Goose regional trail and on the shores of Glen Lake, Cycle Inn B&B offers a cozier option for those who don’t love big hotels. This large house was lovingly converted to a bed and breakfast by the hostess, Joanne, who lives there with her friendly pup, Achilles.

You couldn’t hope for better access to nature. You can enjoy the private dock and rope swing or venture out on the water on a paddleboat or canoe. The waterfront is ideal for relaxing at the end of a long day or for sipping your coffee on a peaceful morning.

The Cycle Inn is also right on the Galloping Goose Regional Trail. Bring your bike (or borrow one from the B&B) to cruise this flat, winding trail. You can quickly get out into the countryside to the west or into the heart of Langford to the east. Belmont Market and Westshore Town Centre are so close, in fact, you could even walk down the trail and reach it in less than 15 minutes. There you’ll find the largest selection of stores in Langford as well as a variety of restaurants and fast-food joints.

A great vacation (or staycation) starts with great accommodations. With so much variety available, you can find the perfect place for you, right here in Langford.
