E-BIKE AND E-SCOOTER SHARE PROGRAM COMING TO LANGFORD THIS JUNE

(Langford, B.C.): Langford residents will soon enjoy a more sustainable and flexible way to get around with the launch of BCAA’s Evolve e-bike and e-scooter share program this June. Evolve, created by BCAA, was awarded the contract for the City of Langford’s micromobility program after a competitive process, and will be responsible for delivering new mobility solutions in Langford, including e-bikes and e-scooters.

“As Langford continues to grow, so does the need for more innovative and flexible ways to commute,” said Scott Goodmanson, Mayor of Langford. “Welcoming Evolve to Langford reflects our commitment to sustainable growth, improved transportation solutions, and meeting our climate change commitments, while making everyday commuting—whether it’s to work, school, or local businesses—more accessible for residents.”

The City of Langford and Evolve are working together to create a safe, rider-friendly system with slow zones and no-ride areas to support responsible e-bike and e-scooter use. 75 Evolve e-bikes and 75 e-scooters will be available to book at 30 stations across Langford. The service is accessible on both Android and iOS devices. After signing up, users can locate, unlock, and ride Evolve e-bikes and e-scooters using their smartphones.

“We are thrilled to offer reliable, affordable and accessible transportation options for Langford residents and build on the success we’ve seen in Nanaimo, and in Courtenay and Comox over the past two years,” says Leanne Buhler, Head of Evolve E-Bike and E-Scooter Share. “As a BC-owned and operated business, we are proud that Langford selected Evolve for their mobility program, which supports local innovation and keeps transportation dollars in the province.”

In addition to the e-scooter and e-bike program, this summer, BCAA’s Evo Car Share will also launch in Langford, providing an additional option to Modo, which has been offered in Langford since 2021. The Langford Evo Car Share Home Zone, that is, the area in which Evo Car Share drivers can start and end their trips, will be in addition to the Victoria-area Home Zone, which has 175 vehicles currently available.
