After building what is now recognized as a national sports capital, Langford is turning its attention to arts and culture. We’re fortunate to have the local West Shore Arts Council, who facilitate events such as the annual Light Up the Hills event in the Westhills neighbourhood. A growing number of students, as well as local community groups, regularly perform at local school theatres. The Station Avenue Revitalization project (coming Fall 2021) will showcase local artists, highlight the area’s history, celebrate local First Nations and create an inviting cultural precinct for the entire community to enjoy. Soon, we’ll be introducing the City’s plan for a performing arts theatre to bring even more exciting events and opportunities to the community. Langford will continue working towards creating a vibrant arts and culture scene for residents and visitors alike.
