Langford is lighting up the season once again with its beloved winter celebration! Whether you’re admiring the glow of holiday lights across the city, enjoying festive activities with friends, or capturing that perfect family photo, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.

This year, we’re kicking things off with an extended Light up Weekend, featuring a Winter Market, the return of the holiday carousel, and all the traditional fun you know and love. From seasonal treats to magical moments, it’s the perfect way to welcome the holidays the Langford way, full of light, laughter, and community spirit.

Langford Light Up

The Annual Langford Light Up returns for another year with even more sparkle! Join us for an evening full of festive fun, live entertainment, and holiday cheer across two vibrant locations.

Date: December 6th
Time: 3pm to 8pm
Location: The Langford Station (720 Station Ave) and Veterans Memorial Park

At the Langford Station Arts & Cultural District: A Winter Market supporting the South Island Primary Care Society, a festive Whoville Hut with The Grinch for photo ops from 5:00–7:00 PM, and a fun Cookie Decorating Station for all ages to enjoy.

At Veterans Memorial Park: Enjoy free hot dogs, hot chocolate, and apple cider (while supplies last) as you explore the Winter Market supporting the South Island Primary Care Society. Take a spin on the Langford Carousel from 1:00 to 8:00PM, and don’t miss the Tree Lighting Ceremony at 7:15PM. Visit the Tinsel Gazebo with Santa, who will arrive on a fire truck at 5:15PM and be available for photos and visits until 7:00PM.

IEOA Truck Parade passes through Langford around 7:30PM, featuring a dazzling convoy of festively decorated trucks.

Bring a non-perishable food item to support the Goldstream Food Bank and/or make a donation to the South Island Primary Care Society using Tip Tap stations located throughout the event.

Carousel in the Park

Celebrate the season with a whirl of holiday magic at Veterans Memorial Park! The Carousel returns as part of a three-day weekend of festivities, offering fun for the whole family.

Location: Veterans Memorial Park
Cost: By donation to Goldstream Food Bank and/or South Island Primary Care Society
Note: Carousel riders must be 3 years or older

Weekend Schedule:

Friday, December 5 | 1:00PM to 8:00PM: Kick off the weekend with a magical carousel ride, enjoy live holiday music, and warm up with festive drinks from Morningstar Coffee’s Mobile Cart.

Saturday, December 6 | 1:00PM to 8:00PM: The carousel fun continues alongside the Annual Langford Light Up and Winter Market! Enjoy a full evening of entertainment, crafts, food trucks, Santa & The Grinch visits, and more.

Sunday, December 7 | 11:00AM to 6:00PM: Wrap up the weekend with another day of carousel rides and explore the Winter Market at Veterans Memorial Park.

Bring a non-perishable food item to support the Goldstream Food Bank and/or make a donation to the South Island Primary Care Society using Tip Tap stations located throughout the event.

Holiday Lego Exhibit

The Holiday LEGO Exhibit Returns to Westshore Town Centre

What’s more exciting than a LEGO exhibit? A holiday-themed LEGO experience inspired by Langford during the festive season—returning to Westshore Town Centre with even more magic!

This year’s exhibit features inspiration from gingerbread, Frozen and Hoth; all built from LEGO. Whether you’re a LEGO enthusiast or simply looking for a festive outing, this display is sure to delight visitors of all ages.

Holiday Matinee Movies

Grab your friends and family and enjoy a FREE cozy afternoon screening of beloved holiday films at Cineplex Odeon West Shore! Volunteers will be on-site to greet guests, and donations for the Goldstream Food Bank are warmly welcomed.

Tickets are available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Teen Winter Ice Skating

SD62 teens can enjoy free outdoor ice skating at City Centre Park on certain Saturdays! Skate and helmet rentals are included. Ice skating attendees can enjoy a special on s’mores – 2 for $5!

Tinsel Gazebo

The award-winning Tinsel Gazebo returns to Veterans Memorial Park from December 5 to January 5, featuring hundreds of glittering tinsel ornaments and lights, perfect for festive photos!

New this year, visit Station Avenue for the Whoville Hut and a giant wreath photo station, plus more light displays at The Langford Station and Westin Bear Mountain Resort.

Winter Fest Market

Join us for a brand-new holiday tradition in Langford! The Winter Fest Market brings together festive lights, live music, local vendors, and a cozy Christmas village atmosphere, all in support of improving access to primary care on Vancouver Island.

All proceeds benefit South Island Primary Care Society (SIPCS), a nonprofit working to recruit and retain family doctors, support clinics, and close the gap in local healthcare. Tip Tap donation stations will be available throughout the event.

Goldstream Foodbank Donations

Consider donating to the Goldstream Foodbank this holiday season and help make a difference in your community. The Goldstream Foodbank has been in operation since 1983 and helps hundreds of families and individuals each year. Your monetary dollar donation goes much further at a wholesale level because the food bank has better purchasing power. Approximately every dollar donated allows them to purchase two dollars worth of food.

Each year, the Outdoor Skating Rink at City Centre Park transforms into a dazzling winter wonderland, filled with sparkling lights and festive decorations. Whether you’re gliding across the ice or cozying up by the fire, it’s the perfect seasonal outing for families and friends.

Enjoy full food and beverage service from the City Centre Grille, offering everything from quick bites to warm hot chocolate. The rink features cabanas, fire pits, skate rentals, helmets, and skate buddies, everything you need to make the most of your time on the ice.
