City of Langford Seeks Input on Three Community Initiatives

(Langford, B.C.) – The City of Langford is seeking public input on three community initiatives through the Let’s Chat Langford platform. Community members are encouraged to provide feedback on three surveys to help shape the City’s Climate Action Plan, the Arts and Cultural Development Strategy, and the future of waste collection in Langford.

“Receiving feedback from residents is key to building a Langford that reflects our community’s values and priorities,” said Scott Goodmanson, Mayor of Langford. “I encourage everyone to fill out the three surveys and share what matters most to you and your experience living in Langford.”

Arts and Cultural Development Strategy Over the past year, the City has been working alongside the community to create Langford’s first formal Arts and Culture Strategy. Developed around meaningful public engagement and guidance from a Community Working Group, the strategy is now ready for review through an online survey. Community members are asked to provide feedback about their experiences, priorities, and expectations for the City’s role in climate action. The survey closes end of day, April 19 and can be accessed at: LetsChatLangford.ca/Arts.

Climate Action Plan The City of Langford is developing a Climate Action Plan to prepare the community for the impacts of climate change and reduce local greenhouse gas emissions. This Plan will outline a practical, flexible path toward making our community and local economy more resilient to the effects of climate change today and for generations to come. The survey closes end of day, April 8 and can be accessed at: LetsChatLangford.ca/ClimateAction.
Waste Collection Options Review The City of Langford is exploring a shift to a single, City-contracted service provider for curbside garbage and organics collection for single-family homes, duplexes, and small strata’s. The goals of the review are to support affordability, ensure every home has proper waste pickup, help stop the misuse of public garbage cans, and reduce traffic, noise, and environmental impacts. The survey closes end of day, April 8, and can be accessed at: LetsChatLangford.ca/Waste.

The City encourages residents to register at LetsChatLangford.ca to provide their input and receive updates about these three projects, and notifications about future engagement opportunities.
