Board Member
BGC South Vancouver Island is guided by two dedicated governance boards—our Services Board of Directors and our Foundation Board—each playing a vital role in advancing our mission and ensuring long-term sustainability.
Our Services Board of Directors provides strategic oversight, accountability, and governance, helping to steward the organization’s vision, programs, and impact across the region. Alongside them, our Foundation Board champions philanthropy and resource development, strengthening the financial foundation needed to grow and sustain our services for years to come.
Together, these boards form a strong leadership partnership, united by a shared commitment to creating safe, inclusive spaces where children and youth can thrive.
We are seeking passionate, community-minded leaders who are ready to contribute their expertise, perspective, and influence to help guide BGC South Vancouver Island into the future. Board members play a critical role in stewarding not only the organization, but the next generation—supporting the development of confident, resilient young people who will become the leaders of tomorrow.
For over 65 years, BGC South Vancouver Island has been a cornerstone of support for children, youth, and families across the region. Established in 1960 as the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Victoria, the organization has evolved to reflect the diverse communities it serves while maintaining a strong legacy of impact.
Today, BGC South Vancouver Island delivers innovative programs that respond to the changing needs of young people—from early learning and after-school care to youth outreach, mental health supports, and family services—helping thousands build brighter futures.
At its core, the organization’s mission is simple but powerful: to provide safe, supportive places where children and youth can experience new opportunities, overcome barriers, build positive relationships, and develop the confidence and skills they need for life.
Guided by values of belonging, respect, and inclusion, BGC South Vancouver Island is committed to ensuring every young person has the opportunity to thrive—and is seeking passionate board members to help shape the future of this vital work.
