Volunteer Opportunity

Story Studio is looking for kind and enthusiastic volunteers who can work with us in the classroom to deliver our creative writing programs!

Volunteer ‘shifts’ are typically during weekdays (Monday to Friday) and are 8:30-12:30, and 12:30-2:45. (You can choose how much to volunteer by selecting your own shifts on our calendar! We’ll provide access after your successful application.)

We’ll provide support and training – you provide the enthusiasm and guidance to young writers as they create fabulous stories! Volunteers typically work one-on-one with multiple youth during a workshop, assisting with story creation or scribing stories for youth.

We’ll be at Willway Elementary in May and would love helping hands in our programs!

Since our founding, we’ve worked with over 12,000 young writers through innovative in-person and online workshops and creative writing resources. Our programs boost literacy, support mental wellness, and build social connection through the power of story.

As we work with youth, all volunteers must have a cleared Criminal Record Check on file. It is free for our volunteers and only takes a few minutes online.
