Hours: 27.5 hours, Monday to Friday.
• 7am-9am
• 2pm-5:30pm
*additional hours available on non-instructional days between 7am-5:30pm, including over summer 2026!
Wage: $21.54/hour plus benefits

YMCA-YWCA School Age Child Care Staff, enjoy working in a fun, fast-paced environment facilitating adapted programming allowing children ages 5 -12 to participate meaningfully in all aspects of the program.

Your responsibilities:
• Work effectively with children, staff, and other stakeholders to provide an inclusive, healthy, and engaging environment.
• To assist with the planning and implementation of a child centered program in accordance with YMCA-YWCA and CCFL standards, including YMCA A Place to Connect curriculum standards.
• Help children navigate conflict and role model positive behaviours.
• To read, understand and follow all YMCA-YWCA policies and procedures related to the supervision, guidance and care of children.
• To establish and maintain positive daily communication and interaction with families, providing quality customer service and building meaningful relationships within the community.
• To maintain a neat, orderly, and clean environment, including all activity areas and washrooms.
Your qualifications
• Must be at least 19 years of age.
• Experience working with children 5 – 12
• Responsible Adult or 20 hours of training in Child Development, Child Guidance and/or Nutrition an asset
• Early Childhood Education Assistant License to Practice an asset.
• If offered a position:
• Current Standard First Aid and CPR C required
• A clear Ministry of Justice Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening required*
• A clear Police/RCMP Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening required*
