Community Safety Survey on Now. Some Residents May Receive a Call.

The City of Langford has partnered with EKOS Research Associates, a third-party survey company, to conduct a Community Safety Survey. The survey will help the City better understand how safe residents feel in their neighbourhoods, parks, and public spaces, and to learn more about any experiences or concerns residents may have.

Beginning this week, residents may receive a phone call, either on a landline or mobile phone, inviting them to participate.

For every completed survey, the City will donate $5 to the Goldstream Food Bank.

Blasting: 2929 Sooke Road (Expires December 2023)

Description of work to be done: Blasting at 2929 Sooke Road

Estimated duration of project: Commencing Friday, June 09, 2023 for approximately 6 months

Hours of Blasting: Hours of Operation from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m, Monday to Friday.

For each blast, there will be the following blast signals:

Before the blast, give 12 short whistle signals at one second intervals
Followed by a 20 second pause
Blast will be detonated
After area is cleared by blaster, give all clear: One ten second horn signal
Blasting mats will cover all blasts
Seismographs will be used to monitor vibrations
