Campfire Ban Remains in Effect - September 3, 2026

Advisory September 3, 2026: The fire danger rating for the City of Langford is still at HIGH/EXTEME fire risk for our area, and Langford Fire Rescue will NOT be lifting the campfire ban today.

Langford Fire Rescue will review the daily fire danger reports and revisit the campfire ban once conditions are safer.

Effective on Thursday, July 16 2026, at 12 p.m. (noon), all open fires, including campfires, are banned across the Coastal Fire Centre. All permits are suspended and no new permits will be issued until further notice. Portable campfire apparatus that uses gaseous fuels such as propane are still permitted as long as they are CSA or ULC approved and the flame height is less than 15cm.

Description of work to be done: 3346-2248 West Oak Place

Estimated duration of project: Blasting will commence on Monday, September 14, 2026 for approximately two (2) weeks.

Hours of Blasting: Hours of Operation Monday to Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (No blasting on Saturdays, Sundays, or Statutory Holidays)

For each blast, there will be the following blast signals:

1. Before the blast, give 12 short whistle signals at one second intervals

2. Followed by a 20 second pause

3. Blast will be detonated

4. A long whistle indicates all is clear

5. Blasting mats will cover all blasts to safeguard persons and property

6. Seismographs will be used to monitor vibrations
