Campfire Ban in Effect - July 16, 2026

Effective on Thursday, July 16 2026, at 12 p.m. (noon), all open fires, including campfires, are banned across the Coastal Fire Centre. All permits are suspended and no new permits will be issued until further notice. Portable campfire apparatus that uses gaseous fuels such as propane are still permitted as long as they are CSA or ULC approved and the flame height is less than 15cm.

Blasting: 721 Treanor Avenue (Expires November 2026)

Description of work to be done: 721 Treanor Avenue

Estimated duration of project: Blasting will commence on Wednesday, August 19, 2026 for approximately two and a half (2.5) months.

Hours of Blasting: Hours of Operation Monday to Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (No blasting on Saturdays, Sundays, or Statutory Holidays)

For each blast, there will be the following blast signals:

1. Before the blast, give 12 short whistle signals at one second intervals

2. Wait 2 minutes

3. Blast detonated

4. After area is cleared by blaster, give all clear: One ten second horn signal

5. Blasting mats will cover all blasts to safeguard persons and property

6. Seismographs will be used to monitor vibrations caused by blasting
