Please be advised that trail improvement work begins today at the Leigh Place Multi-Use Trail and will take 4-6 weeks to complete. Improvements to the Trail include:
- The addition of lighting
- Trail resurfacing
- Tree removal and replanting to increase sightlines and safety for users
Previously, the trees lining the path had been heavily pruned to increase sightlines and allow for hydro lines, which caused a decline in tree health and resulted in the need for removal. The new trees will be easy to maintain, improve sightlines, and increase safety for trail users. Trail enhancements are paid for through development (approved in 2013).
Access to the trail will be closed during this time.
