Campfire Ban in Effect July 12, 2024 at 12pm

Please be advised that the City of Langford will be implementing a campfire ban effective at 12pm on July 12th 2024 in conjunction with the Province ban for the Coastal Fire Centre taking effect on the same date and time. The prohibition is being enacted to help prevent human caused wildfires and protect public safety.

The campfire prohibition does not apply to cooking stoves that use gas, propane or briquettes, or portable campfire devices that use briquettes, liquid, or gaseous fuel, provided they are CSA or ULC approved, and the height of the flame is less than 15 centimetres.


Langford City Hall has reopened and resumed full services as of 8:30 a.m. Monday, July 8th.

Most departments of City Hall were left temporarily inaccessible following the flood event on June 26th, 2024. While restoration work continues, operations are back to full capacity, functioning out of two floors of 877 Goldstream Avenue.

Administration, Bylaw, Parks, and Engineering Departments will be available on the second floor of City Hall.

Finance, Planning, Building, and Business Licensing Departments will be available at the ground floor unit #117 of 877 Goldstream Avenue. This unit is accessible from the left side of the building, directly off the rear parking lot.

Committee and Council meetings remain uninterrupted and will be held as scheduled on the third Floor of City Hall in Council Chambers.

Signs are in place to direct residents seeking assistance from specific departments. Alternatively, support continues to be available through email and phone 250-478-7882.

What:               Partial Road Closure – Paving

Please be advised that from Wednesday, March 22, 2023 to Thursday, March 23, 2023, paving will be taking place on Goldstream Avenue between Veteran’s Memorial Parkway and Bryn Maur RoadGoldstream Avenue will be closed to thru eastbound traffic between Veteran’s Memorial Parkway and Bryn Maur Road.  Business and bus access will be maintained in both directions.  The map below illustrates the work zone and a detour we are encouraging people to use if not accessing businesses in the directly effected area.

If accessing the Goldstream Station Plaza, please try to use the secondary access off Bryn Maur Road. Delays are to be expected. Construction Crews will be working on-site between 7:00AM and 5:00PM. The City will also work with all businesses to advertise on their behalf that business is still open.

Business access will be maintained in the eastbound direction. Driveway access to businesses will be maintained in the work area. If accessing the Goldstream Station Plaza, please try to use the access off Bryn Maur. The City will also work with all businesses to advertise on their behalf that business is still open.

BC Transit and emergency vehicles will have full access through this work location.

This project is part of a much larger watermain replacement that continues west as far as Leigh Road. The project is being constructed in sections to best manage traffic. The project has started at the east end/Veteran’s Memorial Parkway to get out of the downtown area before the warmer weather and special events occur. An updated traffic advisory will be issued weekly or more frequently, if required. Please visit where a link will occur.

Traffic control personnel will be on-site during working hours to facilitate vehicle and pedestrian access to local businesses in the affected area. Please follow the RED route during construction if accessing businesses. Parking is available off Claude Road for people who prefer to walk to their destinations. Please follow signage and Traffic Control Personnel directions during construction. Motorists should expect and should plan for longer commuting times. We apologize for the inconvenience.
