CITY HALL OPERATIONAL UPDATE:

 

Langford City Hall has reopened and resumed full services as of 8:30 a.m. Monday, July 8th.

Most departments of City Hall were left temporarily inaccessible following the flood event on June 26th, 2024. While restoration work continues, operations are back to full capacity, functioning out of two floors of 877 Goldstream Avenue.

Administration, Bylaw, Parks, and Engineering Departments will be available on the second floor of City Hall.

Finance, Planning, Building, and Business Licensing Departments will be available at the ground floor unit #117 of 877 Goldstream Avenue. This unit is accessible from the left side of the building, directly off the rear parking lot.

Committee and Council meetings remain uninterrupted and will be held as scheduled on the third Floor of City Hall in Council Chambers.

Signs are in place to direct residents seeking assistance from specific departments. Alternatively, support continues to be available through email and phone 250-478-7882.

Where:           McCallum Road between Springboard Place and Whirlaway Crescent

When:            Monday, July 8, 2024 and Tuesday, July 9, 2024, 7:00PM to 5:00AM

What:             Continued BC Hydro Utility Duct Bank work UPDATE – Single Lane Alternating Traffic and Traffic Signal Temporary Shutoff

Please be advised that on Monday, July 8, 2024, and Tuesday July 9, 2024, between 7:00PM and 5:00AM, traffic will continue to be intermittently reduced to single lane alternating. The Florence Lake Road/McCallum Road intersection traffic signal will be temporarily shut off to accommodate asphalt reinstatement works in part of the BC Hydro duct bank utility installation on McCallum Road.

This work is part of a much larger BC Hydro utility upgrade that spans from Leigh Road to Secretariat Way. The project is being constructed in sections to best manage traffic. An updated traffic advisory is issued regularly as the project progresses.

Traffic control personnel or adequate traffic control devices will be present to facilitate access. Businesses are not closed due to road construction. Motorists should expect and plan for longer commuting times. We apologize for the inconvenience.
