CITY OF LANGFORD ANNOUNCES 2024 WINTER FESTIVAL ACTIVITY LINEUP
(Langford, B.C.) – The City of Langford is pleased to announce the scheduled activities for its annual Winter Festival. This year’s program includes a diverse array of attractions, combining new additions with long-standing favorites that are suitable for families and individuals of all ages.
New attractions this year include a holiday carousel, and a captivating Lego exhibit, The Polar Express matinee movie screenings, and new interactive holiday lights displays that illuminate the city, offering the best photo opportunities.
The “Annual Langford Light Up” on December 7th marks the beginning of the holiday season and all the festive fun in Langford, with events taking place at both The Langford Station Arts and Cultural District (720 Station Avenue) and Veterans Memorial Park.

Langford Light Up (two locations)
The Langford Station (720 Station Ave)
Date: December 7th
Time: 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Head to The Langford Station for exciting activities, including PACE Musical Theatre, Ablaze Choir, Pacific Edge Chorus, a balloon artist, food trucks, a holiday market, local retailers, and much more!
Date: December 7th
Time: 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Starting at 5 p.m., Veterans Memorial Park will be buzzing with festive activities including a holiday market, musical performances by Mostly Motown Christmas and Westshore Community Band, cookie decorating, ice carving, free hot dogs and hot chocolate (till supplies last), and the annual Light Up display!
Meet Santa
Making his way to Veterans Memorial Park, Santa will arrive at 5:15 p.m. on the Langford Fire Truck and be available for photos in the “tinsel gazebo” and visits until 7:00 p.m. Immediately after, at 7.15 p.m. will be the much-anticipated sequoia tree lighting followed by the lighted truck parade.
Island Equipment Owners Association (IEOA) Truck Parade
The IEOA Truck Parade will pass through Langford with its festively lit and decorated trucks. Follow the parade route here.
What’s new this year?
Apart from all the usual favourites, added sparkles this season include:
Carousel in the Park (at Veterans Memorial Park)
Cost: By donation to the Goldstream Food Bank
Date: December 20th 1-8pm , 21, & 22nd 12 p.m. -7 p.m.
Watch the lights sparkle as you enjoy the carousel and complete your adventure exploring the park. When you finish your carousel ride, enjoy hot drinks from Morningstar Coffee’s mobile cart and holiday carollers. While admission to the carousel is free, there will be volunteers on site collecting donations of non-perishable food items for the Goldstream Food Bank.
Holiday Lego Exhibition (Westshore Town Centre: near Dollarama)
Date: December 8th to 22nd
Time: Sundays 12 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Monday to Wednesday 1 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Thursday & Friday 3 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Saturdays 1 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Cineplex Odeon West Shore Screenings:
Tickets are on a first-come, first-served basis.
Dates:
December 14th – 10:00 a.m. (doors open at 9:00 a.m.)
December 15th – 2:00 p.m. (doors open at 1:00 p.m.)
Westin Bear Mountain Resort Screening:
Date: December 4th
Time: 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

Grab your friends and family and enjoy an afternoon screening of holiday favourite, The Polar Express at Cineplex Odeon West Shore, plus a bonus screening at Westin Bear Mountain Resort! Tickets are on a first-come, first-served basis. Volunteers will greet you at the door. Donations for the Goldstream Food Bank are welcome.
Additional Langford Winter Festival activities include Teen Winter Ice Skating where SD62 students can enjoy free outdoor ice skating at City Centre Park on certain Saturdays, the popular Tinsel Gazebo and other interactive light displays at Veterans Memorial Park and The Langford Station.
Parking will be limited on the most eventful days listed above and everyone is encouraged to walk, use alternative transportation, or park in one of Langford’s free parking lots such as The Langford Station and Claude Road parking lots.
