CITY OF LANGFORD UNVEILS RESTORED TENNIS COURTS AT CENTENNIAL PARK

(Langford, B.C.) – The City of Langford is excited to announce the reopening of the Centennial Park tennis courts, located at Tennis Court Lane in Langford.
The Centennial Park tennis courts replacement project began last summer as part of the 2024 Parks Capital budget. The project included paving, fencing, concrete work, landscaping, the addition of site furniture, and a specialised court surfacing.
“The Centennial Park tennis courts have been in use since before Langford became a city in 1992. Due to frequent use, the courts have been resurfaced several times. The City decided it was time for a complete rebuild,” said Scott Goodmanson, Mayor of Langford. “The courts have been improved and provide another opportunity for no-cost recreation for everyone.”
The facility upgrade aligns with the objectives outlined in Council’s 2023-2027 Strategic Plan, including the enhancement of community quality of life. By renovating Langford’s only tennis courts, the City ensures that this recreational asset will serve the community now and into the future.
The City is currently developing a Parks & Trails Master Plan and is seeking public input through a survey available at LetsChatLangford.ca/Parks. The survey will remain open until April 27 at 11:59 p.m. Community members are invited to share their thoughts on parks and trails in Langford by participating in the survey.
