Community Planning Co-op Student

We are currently looking to fill a 4 to 8-month Co-op position, with the preferred possibility to run from approximately January to August 2025. As our Community Planning Co-op Student, you will:
- Perform a variety of duties related to Community Planning initiatives and projects outlined in Council’s 2023-2027 Strategic Plan, including the Official Community Plan Refresh, Zoning Bylaw updates, Development Permit Area and Design Guideline updates, Good Neighbour Policy, and Urban Forest Management Plan actions
- Research best practices, collect and analyse data, and prepare memos to support the work of the Department
Qualifications for this position include:
- Currently enrolled in a post-secondary program related to community planning or other related field
- Proficiency in a variety of computer systems and software applications including the full Microsoft Office suite and Geographic Information Maps Systems (GIS)
- Ability to prepare clear and concise reports

The hourly rate for this temporary full-time position is $25.00 per hour plus 13% in lieu of benefits and vacation, and a 35-hour work week. This is a 4 to 8-month co-op term, beginning in January of 2025.
