Engineering Technologist (Construction)

If so, the City of Langford invites you to apply for an Engineering Technologist position with our Engineering Construction department!
As an Engineering Technologist, you will be part of a flexible team responsible for review and approval of engineering design drawings, utility drawings and field inspection of civil engineering related works that are primarily related to subdivisions. You will work closely with other Engineering staff, staff of other departments and the public, and may on occasion be asked to respond to after-hours emergency calls.
As our ideal candidate, you are comfortable with a busy schedule of competing priorities, capable of working independently or as part of a team and are self-motivated. You have strong reporting skills, both verbally and in writing, and have demonstrated experience in dealing effectively with the public. You have a sense of humour, with the ability to take your work seriously but not yourself!
Qualifications for this position include:
- Diploma or Degree in Civil Engineering
- One (1) to three (3) years’ experience in the Civil Engineering field
- Valid BC Drivers License
- Experience reviewing site servicing drawings and performing site inspections is an asset
- Preferred applicants are eligible for registration as an AScT with ASTTBC or as an EIT with EGBC
The salary offered for this regular full-time position is $39.70 to $45.12 per hour (2024 rates) plus an excellent benefits package including one of Canada’s top pension plans, and a 35-hour modified work week with flex days.  Please refer to the job opportunities page at www.langford.ca for more information and a detailed position description.
