Police Services – CPIC Clerk
The City of Langford invites you to apply for the position of Police Services CPIC Clerk with the City of Langford and the West Shore RCMP detachment.
As a CPIC Clerk, you will perform a variety of administration and operational support to the Detachment, which includes CPIC (Canadian Police Information Centre) records management, data entry and quality control of the CPIC system.
Applicants must have strong organizational skills, be able to work in a team environment and multi-task through various duties and assignments. The position demands a good working knowledge of both CPIC and the Police Records Information Management Environment (PRIME), as well as the Criminal Justice System (JUSTIN) and RCMP policies and regulations. Experience is required in accurately entering, modifying and removing information, monitoring files to ensure entries and attachments are current and in compliance with policy and procedures, and conducting monthly review of data validation and purge lists.
Qualifications for this position include:
- Grade 12 diploma and two (2) years related experience (ideally working directly in CPIC)
- Successful completion of the “CPIC Query Narrative” and the “CPIC Maintenance” courses
- Completion of PRIME and JUSTIN are considered an asset
- Type 50 wpm accurately
- Proficiency in software experience including Windows, Microsoft Office and database programs
- Ability to interpret and apply policies, regulations and statutes
- Ability to maintain accurate records
- Ability to address shifting work priorities with strong time-management skills and the ability to effectively multi-task under pressure of heavy workload
- Ability to obtain and maintain RCMP security clearance is required
The salary range for this regular, full-time position is $32.82 to $36.26 per hour (2025 rates). This is a CUPE Local 50 position.
