Senior Accountant - Asset Management

As our Senior Accountant – Asset Management, you will perform a variety of advanced accounting, budgeting, and reporting functions. Applying extensive knowledge of Public Sector Accounting Board (PSAB) accounting guidelines for capital assets, this role is responsible for coordinating the City’s Tangible Capital Assets (TCA), Development Cost Charge (DCC) programs, and multiple Local Service Area’s (LSAs) by providing financial expertise and analysis to City departments and senior management.
Qualifications for this position include:
- Post-secondary degree in Accounting/Finance and a minimum eight (8) years’related experience in a variety of complex accounting and audit practices (or an equivalent combination)
- Completion of a Professional British Columbia Accounting Designation (CPA)
- Membership in good standing (or eligible for membership) with CPABC
- Ability to obtain and maintain a clear police information check
- Experience and/or certification related to local government administration is an asset
- Proficiency in using a personal computer and a variety of software programs
- Ability to analyze and interpret various data sources related to financial documents and regulatory processes
The salary range offered for this full-time position is $51.56 to $60.66 per hour plus an excellent benefits package including one of Canada’s top pension plans, and a 35-hour modified work week with flex days.
