The City of Langford and Langford Fire Rescue, with support from Intact Insurance, have launched a free yard waste drop-off program to help residents clear hazardous vegetation, reduce fire risks, and improve wildfire resilience in the community.

To support this effort, the City is offering a temporary, monitored pop-up drop-off site for yard waste for Langford residents. The site will be operated on a pop-up basis during the last three weekends in November and will be monitored by staff and volunteers.

Dates:

  • Saturday, November 15, 2025
  • Saturday, November 22, 2025
  • Saturday, November 29, 2025

Time: 11:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.

Location: 2955 Sooke Lake Road, Langford, BC

Please Note: This is a pop-up site and will only be open during the dates and times listed above.

Only the following materials will be accepted:

Allowed

Pruned or fallen branches
Dead plant material
Invasive species (e.g. broom, blackberry bushes)
Not Allowed

Household waste
Construction debris
Non-vegetative items

 
Please Note: To ensure efficiency, invasive and non-chippable materials such as leaves, pine needles, and roots must be kept separate from branches and other plant matter, as they will be placed in separate drop-off piles.

  • Open to Langford residents only (proof of residence required).
  • Passenger/residential vehicles only – no commercial or oversized vehicles.
  • Only approved vegetation will be accepted, all other materials will not be accepted.
