Patient Intake Support
The Patient Intake Support Volunteer plays a key administrative role in supporting the onboarding of new patients into South Island Primary Care Society clinics. This position contributes directly to improving access to primary care by ensuring patient intake information is accurately entered, organized, and ready for provider attachment.
Working alongside Medical Office Assistants (MOAs) and clinic teams, the volunteer supports efficient patient flow and attachment processes while maintaining the highest standards of confidentiality and data accuracy.
The South Island Primary Care Society (SIPCS) is a non-profit organization dedicated to expanding access to high-quality, team-based primary care across the South Island of Vancouver Island, British Columbia.
In response to the growing primary care crisis, SIPCS partners with municipalities, healthcare providers, and community organizations to develop and operate sustainable, community-driven medical clinics. Our model is designed to remove administrative burden from physicians and nurse practitioners—allowing them to focus fully on patient care—while ensuring clinics are efficient, well-supported, and responsive to community needs.
Since inception, SIPCS has successfully opened and operated multiple clinics across the Westshore and surrounding communities, collectively attaching thousands of patients to primary care providers. Our work continues to grow through new clinic developments, including expansion into underserved and rural communities.
At the core of our mission is a simple belief:
everyone deserves access to care when you need it—and before you need it.
Through innovation, collaboration, and community support, SIPCS is committed to addressing the primary care crisis and building a stronger, more accessible healthcare system for the South Island.
We welcome individuals who are passionate about supporting community-based healthcare and making a meaningful impact.
