Langford Has All of Your Food and Music Needs this Weekend
With over a dozen food trucks and vendors, a lineup of local musicians (and a magician), two beer gardens, and a ton of other entertainment, games, and activities, Langford is hosting two events this weekend that are worth letting loose for.
The two-day Station Food Truck and Music Festival will feature some of the South Island’s best food trucks on Friday from 4 to 8pm, and Saturday from noon to 7pm at the Langford Station Arts and Cultural District, 720 Station Ave.
Then on Sunday, Brewery and the Beast takes over Starlight Stadium for a feast of fire-kissed meats, craft beers, cocktails, ciders, and wines.
The Station Food Truck Festival has procured a great selection of food trucks, representing various parts and cultures of the world, from Deadbeetz, Kattia’s, Mama Rosie’s, Los Panas, Bannock Room, and much more. Millstream Beverage Company will host the beer garden.
There will also be live carving from Calvin and Guy Louie of the Ahousaht First Nation, and a dance performance from the West Coast First Nation.
Victoria funk darlings Downtown Mischief will headline on Friday night; and on Saturday, alt-country band Pony Gold, singer-songwriter Leeroy Stagger, and magician Jason Verners will be performing throughout the afternoon and evening.
Starlight Stadium will host Brewery and the Beast again this Sunday.
If you haven’t been, this meat-centric festival is focused on providing great eats, but also education on ethical farming practices in BC and Alberta. Chefs from over 17 local restaurants will prepare dishes using a variety of meats such as beef, bison, pork, lamb, goat, chicken, elk, rabbit, duck, and wild boar cooked over open fires.
The festival has toured around Western Canada almost every summer since 2012.
This year, Americana neo-soul band Electric Timber will play on stage throughout the day and will likely bring up a collection of local musicians to accompany them.
Langford is where it’s at, so grab the bus and load up!
