Minister Visits Langford to Promote BC Demographic Survey
The province is reminding residents to participate in the BC Demographic Survey ahead of its closing date of Oct. 15.
As part of that effort, on Oct. 5 Lisa Beare, minister of Citizens’ Services, and Ravi Parmar, MLA for Langford-Juan de Fuca met with grant recipient members from the Bangladesh Canada Cultural Association at the Greater Victoria Public Library’s Goudy Branch in Langford.
Dr. Aminul Islam, association president, discussed how the group is using its $2,500 provincial grant to engage the Bangladeshi community to fill out the survey, which will help the province identify inequities in its services.
The survey is available in 15 languages and can be filled out online at antiracism.gov.bc.ca. The survey closes Oct. 15.
