The Second Annual Bike Fest is Happening in Langford This October

Grab your helmets and blow up your tires!

The Wheelhouse Cycling Society, in partnership with the City of Langford, announced the return of their annual Langford Bikefest, back for its second year.

It will take place over two wheel-turning days, Saturday, October 21st and Sunday, October 22nd at the Jordie Lunn Bike Park—described as the crown jewel of cycling on Vancouver Island.

Each day will host different cycling-related events, food trucks, as well as free drop-in skills and games sessions for kids and families, offered through the Cycling BC Hop On Expo for Kids.

On Saturday, enduro racers are encouraged to register for the ‘Live Like Jordie Enduro’ event to experience the thrilling new Langford DH trails, and on Sunday will be the ‘Broad Street Cycles Cyclocross Grand Prix’ event as part of the Cross on the Rock cyclocross series.

Children between the ages of 3-12 are invited to drop by the ‘Cycling BC Hop On’ biking zone to learn some new skills and participate in fun cycling games.

If your kidlets don’t have a bike, they will have the option of borrowing a bicycle and helmet provided by Cycling BC!

“Events like this help highlight Langford as an exciting mountain biking and cycling destination. It also brings awareness and inspires youth to try a new activity and makes biking more accessible for residents and visitors of all ages and abilities,” said Langford Mayor Scott Goodmanson.

“We look forward to the upcoming grand opening of the Jordie Lunn Clubhouse which will complete the vision for this incredible project.”

The soon-to-be-completed Jordie Lunn Clubhouse is a 5000 square-foot community facility that will offer various amenities and services to residents and visitors such as a full-service bike shop, a café, and shared office space for Cycling BC and Cycling Canada to offer programming.
